The War of 1812

The War of 1812 for most of Southern New Jersey was to guard the Delaware Bay and River.

A list of men, locations and events can be found in the publication "Records of the Officers and Men from New Jersey in Wars 1791-1815".

The local New Jersey militia had not been organized into their regiments unit late Spring 1813.

When they were activated the units were stations in Somers Point, Cape May and Billingsport.

Nearly 400 men from old Gloucester County would be in service during the War of 1812.
